Long Elevated in FCC’s Media Bureau

Andrew Long, a 35-year-old attorney who joined the Federal Communications Commission in May, has been named associate chief of the agency’s Media Bureau, which oversees the cable and broadcasting industries.

Long arrived at the commission from Wiley Rein & Fielding LLP, a large communications-law firm headed by former FCC chairman Richard Wiley.

In addition to Long, current FCC officials once associated with Wiley Rein include chairman Kevin Martin; Heather Dixon, Martin’s top media adviser; Catherine Bohigian, chief of the Office of Strategic Planning and Policy Analysis; and Media Bureau chief Donna Gregg.
