Search-engine provider LookSmart Ltd. has renewed and extended its contract
with Time Warner Cable's Road Runner cable-modem service through April 2004.

Terms were not disclosed, but the extended agreement calls for LookSmart to
provide Road Runner subscribers with its Web-site-search engine that editorially
reviews the results.

The engine is powered by Wisent, a technology LookSmart acquired for $9.25
million in stock in April 2002.

LookSmart also will kick in keyword-based, paid search listings.

LookSmart has been providing search-engine services to the cable-modem
service since February 2000.

"Road Runner has been a terrific partner, and we're proud to continue our
relationship," said Brian Cowley, senior vice president of business development
for LookSmart, in a release.

San Francisco-based LookSmart provides search engines to four out of five
U.S. Internet users through its deals with portals and Internet-service
providers ranging from Microsoft Corp.'s MSN to Cox Interactive Media,
About.com, AltaVista Co. and Inktomi Corp.
