LOWDOWN ON THE UPFRONT: Turner Tries To ‘Close’ Deals With Advertisers

Turner Entertainment Networks trumpeted its original dramas and sitcoms Wednesday in an upfront presentation that included its own “closer,” actress Kyra Sedgwick, among other talent.

TNT, TBS and truTV had a bevy of actors and actresses from its shows on hand at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan. Check out all the stars and executives in this online photo gallery.

Turner executives were on hand to unveil TVinContext, an initiative to match TV spots to related program content. 

TNT’s biggest hits are The Closer and Saving Grace, and their stars, Kyra Sedgwick and Holly Hunter, attended the upfront.

Oscar winner Timothy Hutton, who leads the cast of TNT’s new series Leverage, was also on hand for the annual presentation to Madison Avenue.

And two veterans of broadcast hits, Will & Grace vet Eric McCormack and Ed’s Tom Cavanagh, stopped by the upfront in their roles as the stars of TNT’s new show Truth in Advertising.
