Actress and singer Lucero has been named the host of Telemundo’s forthcoming reality music competition Yo Soy El Artista, the network revealed Wednesday.
Lucero’s role will include hosting the weekly series as well as helping decide which contestants will advance throughout the competition.
Telemundo has completed its casting for the series throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico, and the contestants will demonstrate their singing, dancing, and showmanship abilities throughout the 13-week competition.
Lucero is a familiar face in the realm of unscripted singing competitions, as the Mexican-born singer previously served as a coach during the first season of Televisa's La Voz Mexico.
Yo Soy El Artista is expected to premiere in September.
