Magness Widow Seeks to Remove Trustee

RaNae Magness, the widow of cable-TV heir Kim Magness, asked the Arapahoe County (Colo.) Probate Court to remove Jack Levine as a trustee of the estate, AP reported.

In documents filed in September, she claimed that Levine -- one of six trustees managing $660 million in trust funds in her husband's estate -- cannot fairly represent her trust fund and another belonging to her two teen-age children.

Levine has agreed to remove himself from the children's $460 million trust fund, but he said he has a moral obligation to stay on as a trustee of RaNae Magness' $200 million fund due to Kim Magness' wishes and his knowledge of the family's fiscal matters.

Kim Magness, son of Tele-Communications Inc. founder Bob Magness, was found dead in a hotel room March 29. An autopsy determined that he died of complications from a bruised or ruptured spleen.
