Pitchers and reserve players are selected by respective managers from previous year’s World Series. Since 2003, the All-Star Game has been used to determine home field advantage for the upcoming World Series.

The 2008 All-Star Game was held at Yankee Stadium, where the American League extended their unbeaten streak to 12 games, securing home field advantage in the World Series for the sixth straight season.

The 2009 edition will be held at Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Fox Sports en Español brings post-season action to a growing audience with its exclusive Spanish-language production. At the end of the regular season, eight teams enter the post season. Six of the eight teams are division champions. The other two teams are “wild cards”, best second-place teams from each league. Past years have included teams such as the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, and Houston Astros.

The World Series is the championship series of Major League Baseball.
