The Denver-based Maximum Adventure Network, focusing on adventure programming, will merge with Pursuit Channel to create a network highlighting hunting and fishing.
Combined, the new network will offer more than 100 TV titles. Pursuit Channel’s programming focuses on hunting and fishing, while MAN offers programming on a variety of outdoor activities including four-wheeling, boating and extreme sports, as well as hunting and fishing.
MAN has been available on DirecTV's Channel 608, on a full-time basis, since January. The combined service will be available to 17 million DirecTV customers.
"This merger makes sense for everyone involved, including viewers, sponsors, advertisers, producers and both networks," said Rusty Faulk, CEO of Pursuit Channel.
The terms of the merger were not disclosed.
