March Madness Clicks on CSTV.com

Interest in the NCAA Men’s Division I basketball tournament has significantly boosted visitors to the CSTV.com Broadband Network (www.cstv.com/courtside/index.html) during the first three weeks in March.

The network -- comprising the CSTV.com site and its 180 affiliate colleges and athletic conferences -- set records for weekly page views with 29.6 million and unique users with 2.2 million over that span, according to Nielsen//NetRatings NetView.

Relative to the page views, CSTV Broadband rang up a 43% rise from the 20.6 million average during the first three weeks of February and a 35% jump over the average 1.6 million weekly unique visitors over the corresponding period last month.

“These record-breaking figures for the CSTV.com Broadband Network are indicative of college-sports fans' logging on first and most often to CSTV.com when they want the latest and best coverage of the entire college-sports spectrum,” CSTV CEO Brian Bedol said in a prepared statement.

"In addition, the exclusive ‘NCAA March Madness on Demand,’ powered by CSTV.com, along with CSTV.com's free NCAA-game video highlights, expert analysis and other multimedia offerings, has proven extremely popular among fans during the NCAA basketball tournament,” he added. “These great numbers reaffirm the CSTV.com Broadband Network's place as the online home of college sports.”

It was unclear at press time how many subscribers had ordered the NCAA March Madness on Demand out-of-market streaming-video package.
