March Madness for Sprint, ESPN

Sprint PCS Vision customers are catching March Madness with help from ESPN.

Sprint Corp. and ESPN announced Thursday that exclusive ringers featuring the voice of ESPN personality Dick Vitale will be made available to Sprint PCS Vision cellular-phone users.

Besides hearing “Awesome Baby!” or “Dipsy-doo dunk-a- roo!” come screaming out of their cell phones, Sprint PCS Vision users will also have access to “ESPN Tourney Pick'em,” a wireless game that also provides up-to-the-minute scores, news and statistics to subscribers anytime, anywhere.

“College-basketball-themed content from Sprint is a great way for alums and tournament-frenzied fans to stay in touch with the big dance and show their loyalty directly on their wireless handset,” Sprint vice president of product marketing and strategy Jeff Hallock said in a prepared statement.

“Delivering the latest college-hoops news and scores is yet another example of how Sprint PCS Vision phones are becoming the third screen in the lives of our customers,” he added.
