Maria Bartiromo To Co-Host Wonder Women Luncheon

Maria Bartiromo, the longtime CNBC anchor who will debut her new morning program on Fox Business Network on Feb. 24, will co-host the Wonder Women luncheon on March 26 that will honor 12 female executives in the multichannel industry.

She joins the previously announced Lisa Salters, of ESPN, as a host of the event, which is co-sponsored by the New York chapter of Women in Cable Telecommunications. Salters is the sideline reporter for ESPN’s Monday Night Football, one of the lead reporters for ESPN on ABC’s NBA telecasts and a featured correspondent on the ESPN news magazine, E:60.

Bartiromo joined Fox Business Network as global markets editor on Feb. 1, and will serve as the host of an upcoming Sunday business program on Fox News Channel. She is the former anchor of CNBC’s Closing Bell with Maria Bartiromo and former host and managing editor of the nationally syndicated The Wall Street Journal Report with Maria Bartiromo.

In 1995, she became the first journalist to report live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange on a daily basis, where she covered breaking news for CNBC’s morning program, Squawk Box. She joined CNBC in 1993 after five years as a producer and assignment editor with CNN Business News.

She was inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame Class of 2011, acknowledging her dedication to and impact on the cable industry.
