Marketing and promotions executives will have a new shot at an Emmy.
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has announced a new set of awards for promotional announcements in sports, news and documentaries and daytime entertainment programming.
“The awards committee believes the creative talents involved in getting the message out by marrying the art of communications with the new technology and production techniques deserves to be considered as award worthy,” said Av Westin, executive director of the NATAS Foundation and member of the awards committee.
The new categories will be for promotional announcement - institutional and promotional announcement - episodic. Judging will be based on content, creativity, and execution.
Details for the new categories, and rules for competing, will be available March 15 at www.emmyonline.tv.
