Marmet No Longer `Acting' at TLC

Roger Marmet has been named senior vice president and general manager of The
Learning Channel, the network announced Wednesday.

Marmet has been acting GM since April, in addition to his role as VP of
programming.

In his new role at TLC, Marmet will oversee all programming, development,
production and operations.

Over the past year, TLC has experienced tremendous ratings and program
growth, besting the broadcast and cable networks on several Saturday nights with
popular series Trading Spaces.

"Roger's leadership of the network has been amazing over the past year, and I
am thrilled that he has accepted the position permanently," Discovery Networks
U.S. president Billy Campbell said in a release.

"His wealth of experience and talents are superb, and he is a sure bet to
help take TLC to the next level," Campbell added.
