Industry vet Christy Martin has been named chief technical advisor of ThinkAnalytics, the London-based developer of personalized search and recommendation engines for set-tops boxes, tablets, smartphones, and other connected devices.
Martin, who reports to company founder and chief technology officer Peter Docherty, is responsible for working with service provider customers on solutions architecture and system integration work, as well as advising on overall product strategy.
Martin is the founder and principal of iBox Systems, a technology service firm that works with cable operators, programmers and vendors. She previously was the principal architect and vice president of solutions engineering for Canoe Ventures, the MSO-backed advanced advertising J.V. Before that, she was VP, strategy and technology at Thomson (now Technicolor) and the chief architect at Canal+ Technologies.
“Christy is known for her ability to synthesize market, technology and operational requirements into concise and commercially successful products,” said Michael Pohl, member of the corporate board of directors and strategic director for marketing and business development of Americas at ThinkAnalytics, in a statement.
“Christy’s expertise in architecting and deploying interactive media solutions will help us as we continue to deliver robust multiplatform recommendations to service providers around the world that take advantage of the latest in voice and other emerging navigation technologies,” Docherty said, in a statement.
ThinkAnalytics’ customers include Liberty Global, BSkyB, Swisscom, Zon, Canal Digital and Cox Communications, which recently launched a Contour, an app for the iPad that enables customers to build eight individual recommendations profiles.
