Ohio's Massillon Cable TV is deploying Motorola's BSR 64000 DOCSIS 3.0-based cable-modem termination system and the vendor's high-density TX32 downstream module.
Massillon president Bob Gessner said the operator doesn't have a specific launch date for when it plans to launch an "ultra broadband" service based on the CMTS.
"We are working now to migrate nodes to DOCSIS 3.0," he wrote in an e-mail. "Once that is complete, we will conduct some friendly tests and then a soft launch."
Massillon, located in northeast Ohio, has about 45,000 video subscribers.
