MavTV Eyes 3Q Launch

Mav’rick Entertainment Network will launch its new premium network targeting men in the third quarter of this year, officials said Wednesday.

Mav’rick plans to offer distributors a preview of MavTV, its new subscription service, via a limited signal that will go live this month. The limited feed will be offered through MavTV’s partnership with Crawford Communications Inc. in Atlanta, with the sneak-peek running continuously on G11, transponder 21, through May.

In addition, MavTV has lined up Plum Management to source its launch funding and to provide strategic advice.

Mav’rick CEO Steve Severn said his network will be able to tackle areas that basic-cable services for men can’t.

"All of the themes men gravitate toward will be featured -- gadgets, finance, sports, health/fitness, movies and sex -- but as a premium service, the content will be presented with raw opinions, no-holds-barred commentary and, of course, it will be aired uncensored and commercial-free during shows," he said in a prepared statement.
