MavTV Revs Up Rollouts with Myriad Small Distributors

The independent network has signed carriage contracts and either has been or will soon be added by Wheat State Telephone and Peoples Services LLC in Kansas; Michiana Supernet and Lighthouse Computers in Michigan; Belhaven Cable TV, Inc. in North Carolina; Westcom, Inc. of Portland, Ore.; Bulldog Georgia Cable, LLC of Augusta and Telemanagement, Inc. of Atlanta; New Hope Telephone Cooperative in Alabama’s Montgomery County; and Madison Communications, Inc. of Staunton, Ill. The service also has with Base TV Europe, which serves customers in Luxembourg.

MavTV, which gained carriage on DirecTV in June, also recently bowed on Bellaire TV Cable Co., Inc. in Ohio; in North Carolina, with Wilkes Communications, Inc. of Wilkesboro, ATMC Wilmington and Fletcher Smith & Assoc. of Charlotte; Reservation Telephone Co. in North Dakota; Mahaska Communication Group of Oskaloosa in Iowa; Slic Network Solutions in New York;  and Madison Telephone, LLC in Kansas.  It also recently renewed its pact with CWI Caribbean Ltd., serving the island of Barbados.

The channel currently counts some 26 million subscribers and has launch commitments that will lift that total to 30 million by year-end, according to network officials.

“We’re very excited to bring our American Real programming to such a wide range of independent cable providers,” said Bob Patison, president of MAVTV. “Expanding our reach across America – and even beyond – means that families in these markets will now have the opportunity to enjoy our high speed and high adventure programming that is not found anywhere else.”
