Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. has named Mike McKee chief operating officer of TV Guide Consumer Electronics.
McKee had been president of the company’s satellite businesses -- Superstar/Netlink Group LLC, UVTV and SpaceCom -- which were sold to EchoStar Communications Corp. earlier this month.
In his newly created position, McKee will oversee day-to-day worldwide business operations for the division, which develops and markets interactive program guides and “Plus Code” recording systems for consumer-electronics products including digital-TV sets, digital-video recorders and DVD recorders.
