Fox Sports Houston has named Steve McNair its general sales manager.
In this newly created role, McNair will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans for the sale of advertising time and management of the regional sports network’s sales team responsible for carrying out its TV plan. In addition, McNair will develop budgets, manage inventory and track projections working closely with the Dallas-based Fox Sports Southwest team reporting directly to Steve Tello, senior vice president and general manager of Fox Sports Houston.
McNair, a 20-year industry veteran, joins Fox Sports Houston after an eight-year stint at Clear Channel, where he held a variety of roles, most recently overseeing revenue activities for seven stations as director of sales for Clear Channel Radio in the San Antonio market. Prior to his tenure at Clear Channel, McNair held account executive positions with local Houston broadcasters, My 20 and KPRC.
“Steve joins us with an extensive background as a sales professional and executive,” said Tello in a statement. “I’m confident he is a perfect fit and will have a key role with our partner relationships as our organization continues to evolve to a stand-alone Fox Sports Net affiliate and the home of Houston sports.”
