The head of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association and a Federal Communications Commission member will be the keynote policy speakers at the Cable Television Public Affairs Association’s Forum 2005, the CTPAA said Thursday.
NCTA CEO Kyle McSlarrow and FCC commissioner Jonathan Adelstein will appear during the Tuesday-morning general session.
Cable News Network Washington correspondent Ed Henry will interview both Adelstein and McSlarrow following their individual addresses to the delegates, the CTPAA said.
The opening general session will also boast some cable firepower.
The session Monday, May 2, will feature George Bodenheimer, president of ESPN and ABC Sports; Patrick Esser, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Cox Communications Inc.; Debra Lee, president and COO of Black Entertainment Television; Henry Schleiff, chairman and CEO at Court TV; and Michael Willner, CEO of Insight Communications Co. Inc. The session will be moderated by C-SPAN co-COO and executive VP Susan Swain.
The group will discuss topics including cable's expanding opportunities, competition, policy and the critical role of public affairs.
Forum 2005 will be held May 1-4 at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C.
