Mediacom Communications will use Clearleap's Web-based content management system to deliver video-on-demand content and advertising.
The MSO expects to use the Clearleap system to manage content and advertising assets for VOD and linear channels. The system will help Mediacom deliver additional local and special-interest programming to subscribers in the 1,400 communities in its footprint, according to the companies.
Mediacom, the seventh-biggest MSO in the U.S., had about 1.35 million customers at the end of 2009.
Mediacom also has the rights to acquire programming through Clearleap's Content Marketplace, which includes niche content, national programming and Web-based material from a variety of providers.
Other operators that have deployed Clearleap's Web-based VOD system include Bresnan Communications and Atlantic Broadband. Investors in the Atlanta-based startup include Trinity Ventures and Noro-Moseley Partners.
