Mediacom Communications Corp. said Thursday that it will boost the maximum download speed for its high-speed-data service.
The MSO said it will increase the rate to 5 megabits per second from 3 mbps. Mediacom added that it will debut a premier Internet service with maximum speeds of 10 mbps downstream and 1mbps upstream.
The company said the upgrades should be completed within 90 days.
“These improvements to our market-leading broadband product reinforce its superior value compared to satellite and DSL [digital subscriber line],” Mediacom group vice president of Internet-protocol services J.R. Walden said in a prepared statement.
