Mediacom Enhances Customer Service

Mediacom Communications announced several enhancements to its customer service offerings Monday, including night and weekend appointments and compressed service windows.
According to the company, the changes came after talking with customers to determine what they wanted most out of their cable company.
"We found that customers wanted appointments that fit easily within their busy lives and service technicians that they don't have to wait on to arrive, said Mediacom senior vice president of marketing David McNaughton in a statement. "In short, they wanted their interaction with Mediacom to be simple and easy."
As a result, customer now can schedule service appointments at night and on weekends. And customers that schedule the first appointment in the morning or afternoon can expect a Mediacom technician to arrive at their homes within an agreed upon 30-minute timeframe, instead of the traditional 4-hour service window.
Mediacom also has instituted a 90-day money back guarantee for new customers. Mediacom front line employees also will be sporting new uniforms, which McNaughton added would help "convey a sense of consistency and professionalism to the customers we serve, and promote a spirit of teamwork and pride within our workforce."
Mediacom is the eighth largest MSO in the country, and has about 1.1 million subscribers mainly in the Midwest and Southern regions.
