MediaFLO USA Hires Two Senior VPs

Qualcomm’s MediaFLO USA mobile TV subsidiary announced it has hired Jonathan Barzilay as senior vice president of programming and advertising and Matt Milne as senior vice president of sales and marketing.

Barzilay, who will be responsible for acquiring new content and developing original programming, most recently was senior vice president and general manager of entertainment for CBS Interactive. Prior to that, he spent 15 years with Walt Disney Co., where he was senior vice president of Disney-ABC Cable Networks and general manager of ABC Kids and Toon Disney.

Milne previously was president of the Americas for ViewSonic and also has worked at PC manufacturer Gateway. He will handle strategy, brand positioning, sales, marketing and channel development efforts for MediaFLO USA, while also “driving continued momentum” with wireless carriers.

MediaFLO USA has announced deals with Verizon Wireless, which offers the eight MediaFLO channels as V Cast Mobile TV, and with AT&T, which not yet rolled out a live TV service after originally targeting a launch by the end of 2007.
