A start-up men’s channel, Mav’rick Entertainment Network, is aiming to launch
March 1 as a premium service, officials said.
Mav’rick officials, who are former Showtime executives, are talking with
operators about retailing their service at $10.95-$12.95 per month à la carte
and from $5-$6 as an add-on to a premium package.
Mav’rick is positioning itself as a potential addition to sports tiers.
Although it is being planned as a subscription service, the network will have
some commercials and sponsorships.
