Telemundo dating show host Penelope Menchaca and Imagina US have launched a dedicated exclusive channel on YouTube.
On the Penelope Channel, Menchaca, who hosts 12 Corazones (Hearts), which airs on Telemundo in the U.S., as well in Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela and El Salvador, places herself in new situations, offers dating advice to her fans and shows and provides glimpses of her private life.
Miami-based production company Imagina US is producing a pair of weekly episodes for Penelope Channel, which regularly features a range of topics presented by Menchaca while incorporating feedback and ideas from her fans.
Among the segments: Love Tips, where she shares useful and original tips on love, relationships and heartbreak; The Joke of the Day; irreverent and sometimes controversial jokes; On the Road: cameras follow Menchaca throughout the U.S. meeting her fans while participating in fair and events; When the Cameras Turn Off: an inside look at her life, at her boxing classes and Zumba lessons, with her dogs and her family; Penelope Answers: she responds to social media queries; Where to Fall in Love: she provides ideas on the perfect places to impress a date; and Memories, where she will recount her beginnings on television, her life as the lead singer of " Las Nenas" and her experiences as a telenovela star.
"The audience wants to access entertainment and any point and any time of day," said Imagina US vice president of development Francisco Calvo in a statement, "and with the Penelope Channel we are giving her fans original, engaging and unique content on a platform that is leading the digital change."
Noted Menchaca: "I am very happy to have my own Penelope Channel. Thanks to YouTube I can now share my adventures, crazy moments and an accident or two. Not only will people laugh with me but they can also see me getting atTattoo or even get to see the biggest fall I have ever had!"
