CTAM, in partnership with Multichannel News, has honored the best marketing in cable by featuring the work in pages like these for over two decades.
Indeed, the past 21 years of the Awards demonstrates the evolution of a remarkable vitality and ingenuity in the cable industry, as well as cable marketing. Cable has taken a leadership position in the entertainment industry and is looked to for innovation and new standards. Without a doubt, our collective marketing campaigns are the most prolific and widest-reaching projection of our industry’s image, which is a fundamental reason I truly believe the Mark Awards are one of the most important ways we recognize excellence in our industry.
We’re extremely proud to present the 22nd Annual Mark Awards winners here. I’m also pleased to have had the opportunity this year to work with the dedicated members of the Mark Awards Committee, and I want to thank them for all they’ve done. We’ve continued the work of past committees in our own unique ways, with the goal of making the Mark the industry’s most prestigious award.
Our first job was to streamline the award categories and media, so that the Mark Awards accurately represented the current state of cable marketing. Next, the group commissioned the development of new brand creative and a user-friendly online entry process. Then we produced the first-ever Mark Awards webcast, “How to Win a Mark Award.” And finally, we secured some of the most influential marketers in cable to serve as Mark Awards final judges and presenters at the event during the CTAM Summit.
The results are clear: 140 Gold and Silver Mark Award Winners — the best of the best — chosen from almost 1,000 entries. These honorees and their work truly demonstrate the pinnacle of marketing in our business today. In the coming weeks, you will be able to view the strategy behind these award-winning marketing programs at www.markawards.com, and use what you’ve learned to develop the successful strategies for cable’s future (and your entry into the 23rd Annual Mark Awards).
Congratulations to everyone whose work graces these pages! And remember, the exhilaration of flawless execution is surpassed only by recognition.
