Interactive-TV-portal vendor MetaTV Inc. announced Monday that it raised $21
million in its fourth round of financing, including a new investment from
Comcast Corp.

Joining Comcast are Cox Communications Inc., Hearst Interactive Media, Atrium
Venture Partners LP, Liberate Technologies, Redpoint Ventures and Rosewood
Capital.

While MetaTV hasn't announced any new cable deployments or trials, its
ability to raise money from MSOs, in addition to the usual venture funds, should
signal that it will eventually score carriage deals with Cox and Comcast.

In February, Cox announced that it would test MetaTV's software on one of its
systems by the end of the year.
