Metrobility for Time Warner in Raleigh

Metrobility Optical Systems said Time Warner Cable has deployed its “Radiance E-Services” suite of products in Raleigh, N.C.

Radiance E-Services will help the operator to manage its first-mile Ethernet dedicated-access Internet-protocol services.

Time Warner can now provide remote-troubleshooting and service-management features without entering customers’ IP space, protecting the management network from customer traffic and attack while creating a barrier between management and customer traffic, the vendor said.

“Metrobility's first-mile intelligent-demarcation technology allows Time Warner to proxy-manage the edge device and to control bandwidth, count packets, provision bandwidth requirements and convert media as needed, using the same medium and without routing or entering customer IP space,” Time Warner Raleigh division director of project engineering Mark Eagle said in a prepared statement.
