NFL Network is heading south of the border.
The National Football League’s cable service reached a carriage deal with Sky Mexico to kick off Sunday.
The network will join the lineup at the direct-to-home operator, which serves more than 1 million homes in Mexico.
The Mexican version of the network will be a simulcast of NFL Network’s United States version, with Spanish captioning available in Mexico.
“Mexico is an important market for the NFL, and the addition of NFL Network will help us to reach existing and new fans in Mexico,” NFL International senior director Katie Boes said in a prepared statement.
“With the first-ever regular-season game set to be played this October, Sky Mexico’s ‘NFL Sunday Ticket’ exclusivity starting this season and now the addition of NFL Network, the NFL has never had greater exposure in Mexico than we will beginning May 1,” she added.
