The Military Channel will be the first network to partner with America Supports You, a Department of Defense program connecting America’s support for the troops to military-service members and their families, officials said Tuesday.
The network will air American Supports You public-service announcements to inform their viewers and the military community about the events, initiatives and member organizations that comprise the program.
The Military Channel and America Supports You first worked together in support of the 2006 Freedom Walk in Washington, D.C., to mark the fifth anniversary of Sept. 11 and to honor veterans past and present.
Since its launch in November 2004, America Supports You has welcomed more than 225 grassroots organizations and more than 25 corporations to the team. Many team members support the troops through letter writing, care packages, helping the wounded when they return home and assisting military families.
