The Aug. 1 episode of Monday Night Raw on Spike TV will be a record-setter.
World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. said the 9 p.m. (EST/PST) show will mark original episode No. 636, topping TV’s previous record-holder, Gunsmoke, which aired 635 original episodes during its 20-year run.
Monday Night Raw launched on USA Network in January 1993.
“We're very proud of producing a weekly television program that, for 13 years, has grown in recognition and in ratings to the point where it is consistently, 52 weeks per year, one of the most-watched regularly scheduled programs on ad-supported cable,” WWE executive producer Kevin Dunn said in a prepared statement.
