About seven months after leaving Adelphia Communications Corp. as senior vice
president of operations, Ann Montgomery has resurfaced with Comcast Corp.
Montgomery was named regional senior VP for the southern region of Comcast's
Mountain division Wednesday.
She will be based in Dallas and will have responsibility for Comcast's cable
operations in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, serving nearly 1 million customers.
Montgomery will report directly to Mountain division president Brad
"Ann has had an impressive career in the cable industry, working with
passion, vision and integrity for many of the nation's leading MSOs, including
TCI [Tele-Communications Inc.], AT&T Broadband and Adelphia," Dusto said in
a prepared statement.
"Her remarkable understanding of customer service and rich experience in
operations will be vital assets to the Mountain division of Comcast," he added.
"I'm so pleased to welcome Ann to the team."
Montgomery got her start with TCI in 1991 as office manager. She rose through
the ranks, becoming director of billing systems, customer-service director and,
later, senior VP of fulfillment services and operations.
When TCI was acquired by AT&T Corp. in 1999, Montgomery moved over to
AT&T Broadband as executive VP of fulfillment services and operations. She
joined Adelphia in July 2000 as senior VP of operations, but she left in May to
pursue other opportunities.
Montgomery had been doing some consulting work for several cable operators
since then, including Comcast.
