More Floor at National Show

The National Cable & Telecommunications Association said Thursday that it has increased the amount of floor space for its upcoming National Show.

The trade group said higher-than-expected demand for exhibit space at its annual confab -- to be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans May 2-5 -- led it to add one additional hall to its contract.

The NCTA said that as of early March, 153,300 square feet of floor space was reserved for exhibits, more than 10% higher than the final amount occupied at last year's National Show in Chicago.

"Rather than limit participation on the floor, we've decided to expand the exhibit space to meet demand among prospective exhibitors to be included in this year's show," NCTA senior vice president of industry affairs and chief administrative officer Barbara York said in a prepared statement.
