U.S. TV households are getting ready for the transition to all-digital broadcast signals next February at a faster clip.
“The pace at which U.S. households are getting ready has accelerated,” Nielsen said in an update. “The penetration of completely unready households declined from 8.4% in September 2008 to 7.7% in October 2008 – the largest single month change in the past six months.”
Nielsen also reported that non-Hispanic households continue to be more ready than their Hispanic counterparts.
“However, recent months show that Hispanic and non-Hispanic households are preparing at accelerated rates,” Nielsen said.
In October, 12.4% of Hispanic households were completely unready for the transition Feb. 17, compared with 13% in September, according to Nielsen.
