More At The 'Jersey Shore': MTV To Bow Florentine Version Aug. 4

MTV will premiere the fourth season of its hit reality show Jersey Shore on Aug. 4, while the cast heads back to its roots for the taping of a fifth campaign this summer.
The upcoming season, which bows at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), chronicles the exploits of Snooki, The Situation and the rest of the crew during their extended visit to Florence, Italy.
The week before in that time slot, MTV will air a one-hour special that chronicles the rise of Jersey Shore from its beginning as a buzzed about new show to its current status as a pop culture juggernaut and the highest-rated series in the network's history.
During its third run, the four-disk DVD for which Jersey Shore Uncensored: Season Three will be released on July 26 with a suggested retail of $26.99, the series averaged a 7.7 rating among MTV's broad target demo of persons 12 to 34. That was up 35% from its sophomore campaign and 196% from its rookie run.
MTV officials said production on a fifth season would begin this month in the roommates' de facto home of Seaside Heights, N.J.
