The Outdoor Channel parent Outdoor Channel Holdings Inc. posted strong fourth-quarter and full-year-2003 results.
Fourth-quarter revenue rose 41% to $8.6 million from $6.1 million in the year-ago period. Ad sales and subscriber fees increased 42% and 60%, respectively, to $4.7 million and $3 million. Income from operations was $1.8 million, up 46% from $1.3 million in the fourth quarter of 2002.
For the full year, Outdoor Holdings’ revenue of $31.7 million was up 48% from $21.4 million in 2002. Ad sales jumped 50% to $16.4 million and subscriber fees grew 79% to $10.8 million versus full-year 2002. Income from operations was up 67% to $7.6 million from $4.6 million in the prior year.
As of March, Outdoor Channel was available to more than 63.6 million homes and its subscriber base was above 26.1 million, according to Nielsen Media Research.
