Movielink -- the Internet-based movie-download service owned by Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. -- officially launched Monday with upward of 200 titles priced between $1.99 and $4.99.
Consumers can download movies for a 30-day period. Once a consumer hits play, they have 24 hours to watch the movie, with full VCR functionality.
Movielink is using both RealNetworks Inc.'s and Microsoft Corp.'s Windows Media digital-rights management and media players. The movies appear in the pay-per-view window.
