Jeremy Lin, if not "Linsanity," returned to New York on Monday night, and MSG Network reaped the ratings benefit, netting its best number of the 2012-13 NBA season.

The Dec. 17 telecast of the New York Knicks-Houston Rockets game garnered a 4.77 Nielsen household rating in the New York DMA, according to Nielsen data, despite the home team taking it on the chin from their former mate.

Through 18 Nielsen-measured games on MSGN this season, the Knicks have averaged 3.41 household rating, up 85% over a 1.84 mark for the first 18 games of the 2011-12 season. (Due to Hurricane Sandy, Nielsen was unable to report ratings between Oct. 29  and Nov. 8, including Knicks games on Nov. 2, 4 and 5.)
