MSNBC Suspends Countdown Host Olbermann For Political Contributions

MSNBC has suspended Keith Olbermann for making donations to three Democratic candidates during this election cycle.
The Countdown host donated $2,400 apiece to Reps. Raul Grijalva and Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona and Kentucky Senatorial candidate Jack Conway, according to Politico.
"I became aware of Keith's political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay," MSNBC president Phil Griffin said in a statement.
Chris Hayes will sit in for Olbermann on Nov. 6.
While NBC does not prohibit employees from making political donations, the programmer does require they get prior approval from executives.
