The Mtn. - MountainWest Sports Network is adding a half-dozen TCU women's basketball games to its 2009-10 college basketball season lineup.
Working in conjunction with the TCU Film/Television/Digital Media Department, the regional sports network will add six of the university's women's basketball games, tipping off with live coverage of the school's contest versus Louisiana Monroe on Dec. 1 at 5:30 p.m.
TCU Film/Television/Digital Media Department students will be responsible for all facets of the game production while The Mtn. provides the broadcast platform.
"The benefit of this partnership was exhibited during the women's volleyball season and the fact that we are extending it to basketball is evidence of how successful this endeavor has been," said Steve Hurlbut, senior executive producer and director of programming for The Mtn, in a statement. "The addition of these six games allows us to expand the roster of women's basketball games we're offering this season; an additional benefit for the teams, women's basketball, and the viewers from an exposure standpoint. We offer opportunities such as this to each of the nine Conference institutions, and we're excited that TCU has taken advantage of this great opportunity."
Three other TCU women's game will air live at 11 a.m.: San Diego State on Jan. 16, Air Force on Feb. 6, and Wyoming on Feb. 13.
TCU's contests against Colorado State and BYU will be presented via tape delay at 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 27 and Feb. 3, respectively.
