Pasadena, Calif. -- U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell will participate in
an MTV: Music Television interactive special set to air in February that will
reach 160 territories globally.
The one-hour international global forum will focus on the war on terrorism
and other issues and events affecting young people from around the world, vice
president of programming Brian Graden announced Monday at the Television Critics
Association Tour here.
Powell will answer questions posed from students from several countries,
including India, the Middle East, Italy, Brazil and Russia.
Overall, the show will be available to 164 territories with MTV channels
reaching 374.7 million households.
'Anyone can ask whatever they like, even if their cultural or political
perspective might differ a bit from the average American,' Graden said.
'We are very pleased that the secretary of state accepted our invitation, and
we feel privileged to allow our audience direct access to these kinds of
decision makers,' he added.
