MTV: Music Television will give viewers glimpses of how groups of young
adults spend their Saturday nights via a new documentary series.
Network cameras will focus on three sets of young adults in each episode.
FM Nation will bow Oct. 1 at 10:30 p.m.
The series will center on the group's stories -- linked by listening to the
same local radio station -- as they unfold over the course of a Saturday night.
As such, MTV officials said, the DJs will serve as the episodes' unscripted
narrators, while the music will serve as a soundtrack of sorts.
During the first season, FM Nation will visit Bakersfield, Calif.;
Scottsdale, Ariz.; Little Rock, Ark.; Mobile, Ala.; Salt Lake City; Boulder,
Colo.; Wichita, Kan.; and Clearwater, Fla.
'After every Saturday night, there are countless stories to be told,' MTV
senior vice president of music development Lois Clark Curren said in a prepared
statement. 'We decided to tap into this with FM Nation. Whether the
participants find adventure, fall in love, or just cruise hometown USA, the
