MTV in February will air a "dogg" of a talk show featuring rapper, entrepreneur and actor Snoop Dogg.
The new variety talk show, Dogg After Dark, will debut Feb. 17 at 9 p.m. and feature "raw" interviews with A-list celebrities and musicians, sketch-comedy segments and musical performances from today's hottest artists, according to the network.
Filmed at Los Angeles nightclub Kress and featuring Snoop's band, the Snoopadelics, the show will air on seven consecutive Tuesdays.
A global deal reached between MTV and Snoop Dogg will also cross over into the development of the hip-hop artist's new album as well as inclusion of several Snoop Dogg catalog songs into MTV's hit video game Rock Band, according to MTV officials.
"Snoop has been a mainstay across MTV screens for over a decade by pushing the boundaries of hip-hop with his signature antics, incredible catalogue of music, legendary videos, larger than life personality and even a little controversy," said Van Toffler, President, MTV Networks Music, Films and Logo Groups in a statement. "He is an undeniable international superstar whose talent and work transcend music, tv and film and we look forward to launching this new multidimensional partnership with the Doggfather."
