Viacom continued its digital channel rebranding efforts Tuesday as MTV Hits will be re-tuned into a Nickelodeon-branded, kids-targeted music video channel.
The NickMusic service will launch Sept. 9 and will feature a Nickelodeon-curated lineup of top 40 pop music videos from top artists targeted to the under 18 crowd, according to Nickelodeon.
The channel will also feature artist-hosted programming block as well as long-form concert specials and series, including TeenNick Top 10.
MTV Hits, which launched in 2002, currently offers music video programming.
The network is the most recent Viacom-owned digital channel to be rebranded. Earlier this month VH1 Classic was rebranded into MTV Classic, featuring vintage MTV programming from the 1990s.
