MTV, Magic Got Game

MTV: Music Television and basketball legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson announced
Wednesday that they will team up to produce Who's Got Game, which will
document the struggles and triumphs of young street-basketball players.

Chosen by Johnson in a six-city search, Who's Got Game will follow 12
streetball players from across the country as they move to New York and compete
for $100,000 in cash and having their hometown court named in their honor.

Production for the series will begin this spring in New York, and it will
premiere this summer.

"No one has really explored this dynamic subculture and documented it in a
manner as compelling as this," MTV and VH1 president of entertainment Brian
Graden said in a release.

"And who better to help us tell this dramatic story than Magic Johnson?" he
added. "His dedication to the sport and his enthusiasm for these kids make him a
perfect fit, and we are thrilled to be working with him."
