MTV Puts Its Partnerships in a Rowe

Ian V. Rowe has joined MTV: Music Television as vice president of public affairs and strategic partnerships.

Rowe had been director of strategy and performance measurement for USA Freedom Corps, President Bush’s volunteer-service initiative.

In his new role, Rowe "will be responsible for developing and implementing all of MTV’s on- and off-air pro-social initiatives, working closely with programming, marketing, communications, affiliate and advertising teams to develop strong, effective campaigns that reach out to MTV’s young-adult viewers," the network said in a prepared statement.

Rowe succeeds Stephen Friedman, who is now general manager of mtvU, MTV Networks’ new college-based network.
