MTV will pay tribute to end of one of its longest-running series when it airs Total Finale Live, a special airing Sunday, Nov. 16 at 8 p.m. ET that will serve as a retrospective celebration of its popular countdown show Total Request Live.
Total Finale Live will be hosted by TRL’s original host, Carson Daly, and current host, Damien Fahey and will include performances from the likes of Beyonce, 50 Cent and Fall Out Boy, network officials said.
The afternoon countdown show, which included live performances from up-and-coming and established music stars from New York City’s Times Square, is wrapping it up after 10 years and more than 2,200 shows.
“In retrospect, the name said it all: the total youth entertainment experience, shaped for the first time at the request of its audience, all going down live every day in Times Square and in homes across America,” Brian Graden, president of entertainment, MTV and VH1, said in a statement. “While MTV programming continues to break new ground, we knew we couldn't rush ahead without pausing to celebrate this show, this experience, this daily thrill ride that became such a force in shaping the future web behaviors of millions of young people worldwide.”
Total Finale Live will also include appearances from major music and entertainment stars including Diddy, whose 36 appearances stands as the current TRL record, Mariah Carey, Vanessa Minnillo, Dave Holmes, Hilary Duff, Nelly, Snoop Dogg and Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst.

On Nov. 16, the site will feature behind-the-scenes coverage of the event, plus red carpet photos from the finale pre-show.
