MTV Networks announced Thursday that it has completed its purchase of
College Television Network from CTN Media Group Inc.
CTN is currently available on about 750 campuses in the United States.
Viacom Inc.'s MTVN first announced the deal Sept. 20.
New York-based CTN reaches 8.2 million students each
week via its satellite-broadcast feed to televisions located primarily in public
spaces on campuses, as well as direct distribution into dorm-room cable systems
on almost 150 college campuses.
