MTVN Lifts Lucas To Head Sales For Music, Entertainment Groups


MTV Networks has elevated Jeff Lucas, who has been overseeing its entertainment networks, to also head advertising sales for its music holdings.

Lucas, who had been serving as executive vice president of the Entertainment Sales Group, will now serve in the expanded role as head of sales for the programmer's Music and Entertainment Groups.

In his new role, Lucas will oversee all advertising sales and integrated marketing for the company's Music & Logo Group, which includes MTV, VH1, CMT, and Logo, as well as its Entertainment Group, comprising Comedy Central, Spike, and TV Land.

Lucas will report to MTVN COO Rich Eigendorff, as well as Van Toffler, president of MTVN Music & Logo Group, and Doug Herzog, president of MTVN Entertainment Group.

Sean Moran, executive vice president for MTV, VH1, and Logo 360 Brand Sales, will assume an expanded role under Lucas, who will fill out the rest of his core team in the weeks ahead.

Lucas joined MTV Networks in May 2005 as senior vice president of Comedy Central advertising sales and marketing. In February 2007, he was elevated to executive vice president of the Entertainment Sales Group. Before joining MTVN, Lucas was president and head of sales, marketing, and cross platform Initiatives for NBC Universal's cable group. Earlier, Lucas held a succession of roles at the NBC, including vice president of Olympic sales and marketing; vice president, daytime/late night/teen/all night sales; director of primetime special program sales, among other sales and finance positions.
