Camp Pendleton is getting DirecTV Inc. direct-broadcast satellite service, with help from Multiband Corp.
The Marine Corps Community Services chose Multiband to install the DBS service at barracks throughout the Southern California base, the company said Thursday.
The system is being provided by World Wide Satellite Inc., a Southern California-based provider of satellite services, and subscriber activations are set to begin Dec. 9, Multiband said.
“We are excited that we have been selected by such a prestigious military facility to provide DirecTV services," Multiband CEO James L. Mandel said in a prepared statement.
“With approximately 27,000 units eligible for installation, this agreement has the potential to represent a significant revenue opportunity for Multiband,” he added. “We will work as quickly as possible to install the units to satisfy the expected demand.”
